Deanna Rachel Paquet, a versatile performer, sings classic Blues, Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Rock, Soul, and Popular music.
 
Deanna currently sings with the Sultans of Swing www.thesultansofswing.com and additionally performs in a myriad of settings at clubs, private parties, and special events.  Whether performing with a full band or in a smaller combo format, she brings a formidable voice, impeccable timing, and soul to her vocal work.

Deanna has performed with groups such as The Sultans of Swing, Boston City Rhythm, Boston Players, Guilty Pleasure, The T. Luke Funk Band, The Down to Earth Blues Band, The Ripchordz, The Common Ground Duo, Boston's Odyssey Cruise band, The Allnighters, Flipside, Main Attraction, and New Life Orchestra.  Deanna has also been a featured performer at corporate and community events appearing at Harvard University’s HSPH faculty and staff day Harvard Celebration , Celebration with the Stars , Celebration with the Stars Devoted to HSPH Staff and for Soul Stirring www.soulstirring.org, an arts oriented organization, performing at the Swedenborg Chapel in Cambridge, MA.  In 2003, The Boston Globe lauded Deanna's performance for the Bedford Council for Arts, at the Renaissance Hotel in Bedford, MA. The BCA called her performance "stellar”.

Deanna honed her craft early on tuning her ears to the songs of her family’s music collection while getting acquainted with their Hammond B3 organ in the house where she grew up in Somerville, MA.  Her performing experiences began in choirs, school plays, and choral and Jazz ensembles.  Deanna studied at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA, appearing as a gospel soloist in 1998, with the University of Massachusetts African American Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Horace Boyer, and again in 1999, with the Amherst Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Gunther Schueller.  Deanna continued her studies privately at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music Jazz Studies Program with vocalist Rebecca Shrimpton, pianist David Zoffer, guitarist Adam Larrabee, trombonist Joel Yennior, and pianist Eryan Katsenelenbogen.
